Anna

I have recently "settled down" with the love of my life, Paul.  When I say "settle down" I really mean it... no more jet-setting off on a whim or uprooting my life for months at a time to experience new cultures and meet new people.  Now I am channeling Martha Stewart so to speak... doing things like estate saling, gardening, and keeping up the perfect little home.

I met Emma in 2007 during my expedition to China.  It was really quite random how I ended up in Beijing but I am so thankful that fate was on my side.  We met almost straightaway and over the course of a few months we became the best of friends.  We have explored quite a lot of territory together... from camping on the Great Wall, to snorkeling in Thailand, to broken down buses in Laos, to road-tripping America (Mitchell's Corn Palace, anyone?), just to name a few, and it has been one wild and intense journey!

Emma and I have embarked on separate paths for the time being.  She is galavanting around India and Nepal... ending up in the UK for awhile.  I am starting a life with Paul, trying to balance work, pleasure, and household improvement projects!  That might not sound like a lot, but I dare you to try it and tell me otherwise.  I'm also trying to fit in some trips here and there to exotic places like Indiana (if only that read India!).

As Anne Shirley puts it in Anne of Green Gables, Emma is my "bosom friend."  We were lucky enough to find each other in the PRC and I believe one day we will be lucky enough to be living in the same city (or at least country!!) again.  Until then postcards will have to suffice! Postcards across the world...
