I quit my job of the past four years in Brisbane Australia, packed my life into boxes and hesitantly left my beloved cat Henry in the care of my parents as I embark on yet another epic adventure. However this time it isn't with my usual travel companion Anna who has recently been married all the way across the world in Rockford, Illinois.
Anna and I met five years ago when we were both teaching English in Beijing. We became instant friends bonding over our love of travel and anything fun. We explored China together, then backpacked around southeast Asia for 2 months then again reunited for an epic roadtrip across America. 16 states in 2 weeks...yes I am a tad proud!! I returned a year later to be a bridesmaid in Anna's wedding and added a few more states while I was there...currently 19 (with Anna already planning our next roadtrip!)
Even though we have been over 14,000 kilometers (or 8,900 miles for you Americans!!) apart and leading very different lives we have never lost contact. Anna is the sister I was never lucky enough to have but found on the other side of the world :)
